Progress is saved server-side and tied to your account. If you played as a guest (no login), your save is stored locally and may be lost if you clear cookies or switch devices. Always register an account to protect your progress permanently. If you had a registered account and still see progress loss, contact support with your username and approximate play time.

Try these steps in order:

1. Hard-refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R)
2. Clear your browser cache — cached assets sometimes get corrupted on updates
3. Try a different browser — we support Chrome 90+, Firefox 88+, Edge 90+
4. Disable browser extensions (especially ad-blockers) that may block WebSocket connections
5. Check your browser's dev console (F12) for red errors and include them in a bug report

$MVC (Mentaverse Credits) are earned entirely through gameplay — combat, trading, missions, and building income. There is no way to purchase $MVC with real money. Balances sync from the server, so brief discrepancies can occur if your connection dropped mid-session. Reload the game to force a fresh sync. If the problem persists, report it with your username and approximate time of the issue.

$STAR is the native token of the Mentaverse ecosystem, available on Solana DEX markets via onlystar.space. Once you've claimed a planet in-game, you can mint it as a permanent NFT on the Solana blockchain — it will appear in your wallet and on Magic Eden. Connect a Phantom or Solflare wallet from the login screen to enable NFT minting.

Mentaverse uses WebSockets for real-time multiplayer. If you can't see other players:

1. Make sure you're logged in — guests share anonymous sessions but still need a connection
2. Check that your network doesn't block WebSocket connections (corporate or restrictive firewalls can do this)
3. Reload and try a different network (mobile data often works when WiFi blocks WebSockets)
4. Galaxy activity is spread across systems — other pilots may simply be in different systems

Faction standing is earned by completing missions for that faction, trading at their stations, and participating in their wars. As your standing increases you'll progress through ranks — Recruit → Member → Trusted → Officer → Captain. Officer rank unlocks faction planet assignment and special mission types. Attacking or trading with hostile factions will reduce standing with their enemies.

To board a ship: disable it without destroying it (target engines, then weapons). When hull is low enough the ship shows a boarding prompt. Success depends on:

— Your ship's size vs the target (bigger = harder to take)
— How precisely you disabled it (fewer crew casualties = stronger defense)
— Your Security Chief crew member (if you have one)
— How long you wait — defenders can recover if you delay

A successful boarding transfers the ship to your fleet. A repelled boarding costs you crew.
